January's Reading Goal Progress
Having failed to fully complete 2018's 'vow to read' challenge, this year I decided to be a bit more careful about my five choices. I managed to cross one of the list right away with Full Tilt and made progress on another this month too. As for my goal to share ten reviews in 2019... well that's not going too well so far!
January's Purchases
January was such a busy month that, luckily for my bank account, I didn't really have the time to even think about buying any books!
Unfinished In January
There were two books I started this month but haven't yet finished; Us Against You (Fredrik Backman) and Peggy & Me (Miranda Hart). Having adored Beartown, which made it into my top 5 reads of 2018, I was super excited to pick up a copy of sequel Us Against You but sadly I just found it was a bit too heavy for such a stressful month so I'm currently taking a little break from it. In an attempt to welcome February with something fun, yesterday I took to my Kindle and started reading Peggy & Me, comedian Miranda Hart's second book all about life with her dog Peggy.
January's Book Of The Month
Whilst I suspected Us Against You would be January's top pick, as mentioned above, I didn't manage to finish it in time after craving something that would combat the January blues. My favourite this month ended up being Amy & Roger's Epic Detour which was also my selection for our January book club over on Blogger's Bookshelf. This was a re-read for me having first picked it up back in 2015 and whilst my tastes might have changed since then, it didn't disappoint. I haven't yet met a Morgan Matson novel that I haven't enjoyed!
On February's TBR
Next month I'm hoping to finish both Peggy & Me and Us Against You, as well as Starers (Nathan Robinson) which is my selection for our February book club. I also have The Wangs vs The World (Jade Chang), Once Upon A River (Diane Setterfield) and Sadie (Courtney Summers) waiting for me at the library so they'll all be bumped up the TBR list too!
