June's Reading Goal Progress

Without realising it at the time of picking up the books I managed to cross two more prompts off the Popsugar list this month; favourite colour in the title and weather element in the title. My Kindle, sequel and BB 'vow to read' goals unfortunately still aren't going so well...

June's Purchases

Between the June and July BB Book Club reads, a pre-order of Dry by Neal & Jarrod Shusterman, a couple of irresistible Kindle deals and an Amazon order for a donut pan that I wanted to bump up to get free delivery (anyone else do this?), I made quite a few bookish purchases in June. My total spend across the month was around £35, but I picked up eight new reads so I guess I can't complain? It's a fair amount of book for my money!

June's Book Of The Month

If you were to ask me which of June's reads shared a story that will stick with me the longest the answer would definitely be Wild Life. This particular story, which tackles the topic of homelessness, somehow felt different to anything I've read before. The book takes a pretty unexpected dark turn part way through and was a difficult read at times but certainly a memorable one.

Whilst Wild Life was a unique read, my top pick for June has to be Thunderhead, the sequel to my March favourite Scythe. Although I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the previous instalment, this series takes a place in such an interesting world making it pretty impossible not to want to find out more. I'm just disappointed I have to wait until 2019 for the next book!
